DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Duanwu Festival is other wise known as DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL is a traditional holiday originate from china.In 1940 it was officially announced as holiday for china.This may festival is celebrated in many countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia.Usually this festival occurs at 5th day of 5th month of lunar calender.DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL IS MAINLY FOCUSED ON THERE PARTS 1. ZONGZI 2. REAL GAR WINE 3.DRAGON BOATS.

WHY PEOPLES CELEBRATE DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL:
                        The festival is  mainly for the commemorates the death of POET named QU YUAN .This Chinese  poet who is lived in warring state period(termed IRON AGE 476 BC OR 453 BC)  in ancient china  his famous poems are CHUCI AND SHI JLING  are the famous collection of poet.

FAMOUS THINGS AT THE FESTIVAL:

1. ZONGZI
      Its a traditional food for Chinese made of special type of rice GLUTINOUS RICE this rice are sticky during cooking .This type of rice is boiling or steaming

2. REAL GAR WINE
          Ancient Chinese who used real gar wine mainly  was an antidotes for poison. Mainly they believed that to drink the wine to free from evil spirits and insects.During dragon festival time they drink the wine

3. RACING DRAGON BOATS:
            The famous boat is driven only by humans.This things are mainly see at pearl river delta.During the competition boat is decorated head and tail with dragon usually peoples who painted white,yellow,black boat may be 20-40 meters long .Before the stating of festival they worship the DRAGON KING

BUDDHA'S EARLY LIFE

         
Gautama buddha was born in Lumbini ,a place in Nepal nearly about 2500 years ago. His father was King Suddhodana , who was the leader of shakya clan. Buddha's mother was Queen Maha Maya and the capital of his empire is Kapilavastu. Buddha's life time ( 563 BC - 483 BC).

Buddhist New Year:

             In Sri lanka, Thailand, Cambodia ,Burma countries this new year is celebrated for three days from first full moon day in April month. In china, Korea , vietnam New year is celebrated in late end of January or starting of Febraury month.

Vesak:

It is the major Buddhist festival celebrated for Buddha's birth ,Enlightment and death of Buddha. It's name Vesak denotes to the Indian calendar.

Maha Pooja Day:

It is celebrated in the March month due to an important event which took place in buddha's life before 2500 years ago ,during the time of teaching.

Elephant Festival Day:

            Buddha used an Elephant for the symbol of his teaching to the disciples who were joined nwly to buddhism. So this results in the cause of elephant festival ,which is conducted on every september month.

Ploughing Festival Day:

    In every may month, during half fullmoon day ,two oxen ploughing a gold plated or painted plough with behind four girls ,who dressed in white scatter rice seeds from gold and silver baskets. This is because of buddha got enlightment at the age of seven ,when he first visted his farm field with his father. It is celebrated in Thailand.

easter day is the day which the jesus christ was crucified and christrians offer prayers and services in the churches it is celebrated on the april 8 sunday.it is celebrated as a holyday.many christians good friday is really a misnormer in that it was a bad friday.other beleives good represents as a good gift in that day christians wear a formal new dressses and took the prayer in the church.thus the easter day was celebrated by the christians.
